Why should I consider paying for a styled shoot?
You need the right professionals to create the perfect ad campaign. The best costs a little more. A styled shoot is normally created in a controlled environment where professional creatives collaborate to produce a vision through the use of gowns, props, products, scenery, etc. to create the desired look and feel. The process allows for very specific images to be captured and used for marketing of the product or be published for advertising purposes.
There are basically two types of styled shoots in the wedding industry, the Vendor Focused styled shoot and the Client Focused styled shoot.
The Vendor Focused styled shoot is the most popular and usually receives the most buzz in the wedding industry.
Here vendors from different facets of the industry come together to create and display their skill. As a vendor, this is a great opportunity to stretch your imagination, produce something that is more in line with your own style. It’s also a great opportunity to meet and work with other creatives you may not normally with. Many of the participating vendors donate their time or product for the shoot and later use the images to add to their portfolio, social media, or as a piece to be featured on wedding blogs and other bridal media publications. Other vendors such as planners and florists require a fee to produce the materials needed. This process allows us to create perfect Pinterest photos because we get a second chance to modify everything, unlike a real wedding when moments are literally once in a life time. Sometimes professional models, real couples or other creatives are used as models to create the right look.
The Client Focused styled shoot is not a new concept but has grown in popularity within the wedding industry, especially by venue owners. The same thought and creativity go into setting up the creative ‘stage’ but this shoot is designed around the needs, budget and imagined outcome for the venue owner and their desired client. The designer/stylist creates imagery through the use of props and products to elevate the public’s perception of the venue to ultimately drive couples to use the venue for the big day. Ultimately, to create demand for use.
No matter which type of styled shoot you are interested in more than 40 hours of preparation usually goes into the process before the photos ever get taken. Each project is priced accordingly and usually, requires a $1500 investment to achieve the desired outcome.
